Sponsors Announced for 2024 National Indigenous Sport Summit

Updated: Nov 11

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our valued sponsors of the National Indigenous Sport Summit (NISS)—the Confederation of Australian Sport (CAS), the Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO), VicHealth, and Pullman on the Park Melbourne. Their generous support plays a pivotal role in making this important event possible, and we are proud to partner with organisations that are deeply committed to improving the health, wellbeing, and empowerment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through the power of sport. Get to know our sponsors below ⬇️

We are thrilled to have the Confederation of Australian Sport (CAS) sponsor the National Indigenous Sport Summit for a second time, having also supported the inaugural summit in 2017. CAS advocates for the vital role of community sport in Australia, highlighting its social, health, and economic contributions, and works to increase government recognition and resources for First Nations sport, which remains underfunded.

CAS was instrumental in founding the National Indigenous Sport Foundation (NISF) in 2020 and remains committed to securing resources for Indigenous sport, health, and wellbeing from government, corporate, and philanthropic sources. It also supports initiatives like the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Sport Awards. Beyond Indigenous sport, CAS plays a key role in promoting lifelong participation in sport through major events such as the Australian Masters Games in 2025 and the World Masters Games in 2029, while advocating for the integration of sport into primary healthcare, including social prescribing and charitable status for sport organisations.

Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO), is a key body dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of Indigenous peoples in Victoria. VACCHO represents 33 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisations, providing culturally safe, holistic services from pre-birth to the Dreaming. VACCHO advocates for equitable health access, recognising the significant role of sport in improving the physical and mental health of Indigenous communities. Sport is seen as a powerful tool for connection, pride, and overall wellbeing, and VACCHO’s support for NISS helps amplify Indigenous voices in sports and create opportunities for communities to benefit from its positive impacts.

VicHealth is proud to support the National Indigenous Sport Summit (NISS), recognising the critical role that sport plays in improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. As a leader in promoting public health and tackling health inequalities across Victoria, VicHealth’s mission is to create environments that support healthy, active lifestyles. Through its partnership with NISS, VicHealth aims to amplify the positive impact of sport in fostering physical and mental wellbeing, while also promoting cultural inclusion and community empowerment.

Pullman on the Park Melbourne is honoured to sponsor the National Indigenous Sport Summit (NISS), reinforcing its commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion in the Australian sports sector. As a renowned hospitality brand, Pullman on the Park recognises the transformative power of sport in bringing people together, fostering community spirit, and promoting health and wellbeing. Their sponsorship of NISS highlights their dedication to supporting Indigenous communities and providing a platform for their voices to be heard.

Join us in celebrating the strength, talent, and spirit of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through sports. With these sponsors by our side, we are excited to see the impact of our collaboration at this year’s NISS event and beyond.
